YOUTH  MINISTRIES

 

DEPARTMENTAL MISSION STATEMENT:

 

To lead our youth into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ and equipping them to use their spiritual gifts for the Master and living a life of service.

 

DEPARTMENTAL VISION:

 

Youth who have committed their lives to Jesus Christ

and are engaged in a life of service for Him, and in their communities.

 

DEPARTMENTAL OBJECTIVES: 2006 - 2010

 

A. THE GENERAL OBJECTIVES (FIVE-YEAR VIEW)

 

  1. Provide youth with a Bible Based Foundation.
  2. Raise the devotional life of the youth.
  3. Lead youth to understand their individual worth and to help them discover and develop their spiritual gifts and abilities.
  4. Teach youth the Principles of Stewardship.
  5. Equip and Empower youth for a life of service within God’s church and the community.
  6. Ensure the Integration of youth into all aspects of church life and leadership in order that they might be full participants in the mission of the church.
  7. To accomplish our objectives we will achieve a balanced ministry by incorporating the biblical dynamics of Fellowship/Nurture/Worship/Mission, using the Youth Empowerment focus model of Discipleship/Leadership/Evangelism/Missions.
  8. Implement the SID Five Focus Initiatives within the Youth Ministries Department.
  9. Produce relevant and updated material for the above Objectives.
  10. Implement the GC 7 AY Strategies and slogan “IT’S  TIME” throughout this period.

 

B. THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES FOR 2006

 

Year of Connecting & Small Groups

 

  1. Develop the AY Five Focus Initiatives of SID. ( All five Focus Areas)

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      Produce an AWARNESS POCKET CARD on the AY Five Focus Initiatives of SID by MAY 2006.

b)      Share the above concept with the union AY Directors at the May 2006 AY Advisory.

c)      Produce in bulk the “Awareness Pocket Card” by June and distribute to unions.

 

  1. Material development for Epaphras Ministry and a Small Booklet promoting AY Small Groups, and Basic Core Youth Material.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      Produce or suggest a relevant study guide for the Epaphras Ministry by end of May.

b)      Produce the AY Small Group Booklet by end of June and begin distribution by July.

c)      Produce and update AY Basic Core Material AY Resource CD by end of June, begin distribution to unions.

 

 

  1. Conduct an AY Leadership Advisory with union teammates with emphasis of promoting AY Five Focus Initiatives, GC 7 AY Strategies, Slogan, and major AY activities for 2006-2010.      

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      Plan to conduct the AY Leadership Advisory with union teammates in May 2006 with special emphasis for input of major AY Events/Special Programs 2006-2010.

b)      Promote the implementation of AY Haggai Venture at AY Leadership Advisory.

 

      4.  AY Leadership Training in all unions will be a major emphasis this year.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      All Visits to unions will incorporate AY Leadership Training and teammates will also do so at Conference and Local church levels.

b)      The Basic Core Materials and CD will become a major tool for AY Leadership Training at all Levels.

 

5.  To conduct a YOUTH ALIVE SEMINAR with Health Department.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

  1. To work with the Health Dept. in running a YOUTH ALIVE Seminar in one union this year helping them to make right choices and saying no to drugs/alcohol and tobacco.

 

 

 

C. THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES FOR 2007

 

Year of RENEWING & PERSONAL EVANGELISM

(Focus on Zachariah Ministries & Paul’s Method)

 

1.  Promote Zachariah Ministries to all Youth Small Groups

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      Produce and suggest appropriate material for Personal Evangelism to Youth Small Groups within the first quarter

 

2.  Continue Paul’s Method of purposeful Leadership Training on Personal Evangelism at all church levels.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      During the first quarter, to challenge all unions to concentrate on Personal Youth Evangelism Training.

b)      To begin implementing the Personal Evangelism Training within Youth Small Groups.

 

3.  To challenge and assist the unions to help youth leaders at local church level to work on their youth discovering and using their Spiritual Gifts within the church and community.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      Produce a small booklet on Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts in the quarter and implement in the second quarter of this year.

 

4. To conduct a Division –Wide Youth Prayer Congress with related workshops.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To run the Division –Wide Youth Prayer Congress at a time that will draw the maximum number of youth.

b)      To make Prayer the main component of the congress with other supporting workshops that will result in a stronger prayer life for those attending.

c)      To include “Youth Small Groups” and “Personal Evangelism” some of the key workshops.

 

5. To challenge all unions to conduct Spiritual Gifts Workshops on weekends/Camps/Congresses.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To implement the Spiritual Gifts Workshops as one of the workshops during the Division AY  Prayer Congress.

 

D. THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES FOR 2008

 

  Year of Sacrificing & Mega Evangelism

(Focus on Paul’s Method & Zachariah Project )

1. To promote and execute the running of  at least one Mega Youth Evangelism Campaign by each conference

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      First Quarter to introduce the appropriate materials for the youth to run the Mega evangelism.

b)      To conduct a division –wide Youth Evangelism Series in at least three unions this year.

 

2. To promote and incorporate the Elijah Project into the year of Mega Evangelism.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

To secure funding from GC /SID/UNIONS to assist in the financial cost of the Elijah Project during the first Quarter of 2008.

 

3. To focus on Hezekiah Project with the youth on a personal covenant level in their Youth Small Groups.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To develop Small Group material on covenant stewardship for youth.

 

4. To promote the WORLD YOUTH CONGRESS – 16-30 July 2008 to all unions.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To advertise this event in the fist quarter of this year with the accompanying posters and application form.

b)      To seek to get at least 10 youth from each union as delegates to this world congress.

 

5. To conduct at least two Tri-Nation Youth Conventions.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      Zambia/Zimbabwe/Botswana (country composition)

b)      South Africa/IOUM/Angola (country composition)

c)      Malawi/Mozambique will choose to attend either one.

 

E. THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES FOR 2009

 

Year of & Shining & Family Evangelism  

(Focus on Hezekiah Operations & Haggai Venture)

1. To follow-up the Haggai Venture with all unions.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To obtain a follow-up report from all unions on the Haggai Venture and their designated building ventures in the first quarter.

 

2. To promote Hezekiah Operations to all youth groups within their Youth Small Groups each quarter of this year.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To challenge all unions to conduct weekend “Successful Living Seminars” for youth that will focus heavily on Hezekiah Operations.

 

3. To conduct 1st SID International  Pathfinder Camporee.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To begin the promotion and advertising flyer at least one full year before the event.

 

F. THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES FOR 2010

 

Year of Leadership- Reaping & Celebrations

(Focus on Zechariah Operations & Paul’s Method & Haggai Venture)

1. To promote the conducting of strong Leadership Training Workshops in all unions.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

During the first quarter of the year all unions will conduct “Youth Leadership Training Workshops”.

 

2. To conduct at least three major Youth Leadership Training Workshops as a division leader to one-three unions at a time in this year.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      to co-ordinate with respective unions the first quarter to running of these division leadership training workshops.

 

3. To incorporate Zachariah Operations in the Division-wide Youth Leadership Training Workshops.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      The Division-wide Youth Leadership Training Workshops will incorporate workshops on Zachariah Project.

 

4. To challenge all unions to begin and complete their Haggai Ventures within their local Conferences.

 

ACTION PLAN/S:

 

a)      To receive from all unions their Haggai Venture plans in the first quarter and begin building.

 

 

5. To conduct at least two Tri-Nation Youth Conventions.
